Igor Stravinsky?s philosophical and religious trajectory included transformative encounters with Catholic theologians philosophers in the Paris of 1920s 1930s. The most important amongst these was Jacques Maritain, whose neoThomist philosophy applied to art significance Stravinsky, particular through its application life work fellow Russian ?migr? composer Arthur Louri?. This article examines relationship between Stravinsky Maritain terms larger creative context period, also touching on Louri? Manuel de Falla, discussing ramifications himself.
